Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am writing to you about the forthcoming strike action by the five teaching unions in Northern Ireland. You may have seen coverage in the media and I am writing to inform you of the impact this will have on our school. A detailed risk assessment has been conducted which considers the impact the strike action will have on the health and safety of pupils and staff. As a result of this we have determined that the school will be closed for all pupils on the 26th April 2023 and will open as normal on Thursday 27 th April 2023.

Clearly this is a difficult situation, which will cause some disruption, however, I would ask for your understanding. This is a very unusual circumstance and is the direct result of the failure to take into account the very real concerns expressed by teachers and school leaders. Taking strike action is not something which anyone would take lightly. Those on strike have thought long and hard about their decision and will also lose pay for the period.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In Holy Trinity, we have developed a very effective and comprehensive Esafety programme, where we use our monthly E Safety codes to teach your children about the importance of staying safe online. With the ever changing landscape of the online world it can be hard for parents and guardians to keep up! The internet offers us boundless opportunities and a way to stay connected in a socially distant world, but can also present a minefield of risks and challenges. On Tuesday 28th March at 9.30, the team from Love For Life, will be holding a training course for parents of children in P4 to P7. Throughout this interactive workshop, parents will have the opportunity to increase their awareness of what’s happening online, consider which boundaries would be helpful in their homes, and breathe a sigh of relief that they are not alone in sometimes feeling overwhelmed! Content will include cyberbullying, social media, live streaming, mental health issues, and ideas for further support.

Date: 28th March at 9.30 Venue- Holy Trinity Primary School. We would urge parents to attend.

We had a very busy couple of days making our planters for Mother’s Day. Huge thanks to Mr Hackett for organising it all. It was great fun and we think you’ll agree…… we did a great job! Have a lovely long weekend.

School will be closed on Friday 17th for St Patrick’s Day.

We will have a green day on Thursday . Children can come to school wearing something green or their own clothes.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Unfortunately due to the severe weather conditions, I have made the difficult decision to close Holy Trinity Primary School, Friday 10^th March. The school grounds are hazardous and many roads are impassable. This is not a decision I have taken lightly and I apologise for the inconvenience caused, but the health and safety of our pupils, staff and parents is my priority. I wanted to make this decision as early as possible in order for parents to make child care arrangements.

Well done to Holy Trinity Primary 6 and 7. They had a great day at Boucher Playing fields taking part in the West Belfast heat of schools cross country .

Mid Term Break – School will be closed from Monday 13th to Friday 17th February. School will resume as normal on Monday 20th February.
