P6LMC took part in the ‘Smokebusters’ programme today with Judith West from Cancer Focus NI. During the session, pupils learned about the addictive nature of cigarettes and vapes, how cravings develop, and why these habits can be difficult to break. They also explored the laws surrounding smoking and vaping, as well as the clever marketing techniques companies use to encourage people to buy their products.
We will continue this valuable learning in class by examining the effects smoking can have on the body and discussing strategies for resisting temptation and peer pressure.
