P4KL Explore the Phases of the Moon!

P4KL had great fun exploring the phases of the moon for our Space topic! The class first went on a virtual trip to the Moon, where they explored what it might be like to travel through space and land on the Moon’s surface. This helped spark their curiosity before learning about the phases of the Moon and why the Moon appears to change shape in the night sky. After discussing how the Moon moves around the Earth and reflects light from the Sun, the children worked together in groups to recreate the different phases of the Moon using Oreos. By carefully scraping and shaping the cream, they were able to model each phase and deepen their understanding through a fun, hands-on activity. Well done everyone!
