P3 Take Maths Outside with Human Carroll Diagrams

P3 have been learning about Carroll diagrams so we took the lesson outdoors to bring the concept to life. The class created human Carroll diagrams, first sorting themselves by the criteria of boy/girl and pet/no pet. In the second diagram, they sorted by boy/girl and blue eyes/not blue eyes. As an extra challenge, once they were in position, the children used their number to form a Numicon shape. They also discussed which groups were the most and least popular. It was a fun and active way to take maths learning outside and make it memorable.
