This week, our P3 pupils enjoyed a fun way to celebrate Pancake Tuesday by exploring favourite pancake toppings through a special data handling lesson.
To begin the session, the children discussed a range of delicious pancake toppings — strawberries, chocolate spread, lemon and sugar, berries and cream, bananas and maple syrup.
Using JIT Pictogram in J2Data, they explored the results of a class vote on favourite toppings. The pupils carefully selected images to match each option, counted the number of votes by reading the tally marks, and used these to build their pictograms. They particularly enjoyed discovering which toppings were the most popular and which ones received the fewest votes.
To finish the lesson, the children were delighted to enjoy real pancakes in class. They could choose between toffee sauce or chocolate sauce, making their treat extra special. It was a lovely way to mark Shrove Tuesday and a delicious end to the day.
