Through Picasso’s Eyes: Abstract Art by P3BH

21st Oct 2025

This term, P3BH have been exploring the colourful and creative world of Pablo Picasso — one of the most famous artists of the 20th century! The children were fascinated to learn about his unique Cubist style, where faces and objects are broken into bold shapes and shown from different angles.
After studying some of Picasso’s most famous portraits, the children began to create their own Cubist self-portraits — and the results were amazing! They sketched their faces in Picasso’s quirky, abstract style. Eyes were placed at different angles, noses were turned sideways, and faces were split into colourful sections — just like Picasso would have done!
Once their drawings were complete, the children brought them to life with bright colours using paint. We soon had a gallery of imaginative and wonderfully wacky portraits. Well done, P3!
