Prize Giving 2025

We had a brilliant afternoon today at our Prize Giving Ceremony. We would like to thank you all for your attendance and in particular our Deputy Lord Mayor Mr Paul Doherty for taking the time to join us. He is a proud past pupil of Holy Trinity!  PR From Mr Doherty

To our pupils who were with us today. Well done, we are so proud of you. You have worked hard and are very deserving of these awards. Congratulations!

We would also like to thank our Governors for their continued support and it was lovely to see them here today.

Thank you to Miss Donnelly for her amazing work with the children on the Wizard of Oz.

Thank you to Miss Mc Cooe for preparing our wonderful choir! They were fabulous!

Thank you to Mrs Webb and Mrs McManus for organising this wonderful event.

This celebration of our pupils’ abilities and achievements would not have been possible today without the generous support of our sponsor.  We would like to thank Park Centre Shopping Centre for their invaluable funding and for working in partnership with us on many other beneficial projects.  All these events provide our pupils with enjoyable and worthwhile experiences and we appreciate how Park Centre Shopping Centre enables them to happen. 

For those children who will be leaving us on Thursday, we wish you well in your new school. We know that you will continue to work hard and be ambassadors for Holy Trinity. Good luck in the future.

The ICT Award is given to the pupil who has made outstanding progress in using information technology.  This pupil has developed key skills using the 5 Es of Explore, Express, Exchange, Evaluate and Exhibit and has achieved a fantastic level 4 in her CCEA UICT tasks.

The Arts Award is presented to a pupil who during their time in Holy Trinity has developed their skill and talents in the arts. They have got involved in the music and drama life of the school and made substantial progress and even inspired others to engage and develop in this area.

The Arts Award goes to  Darlagh.

The awards for Endeavour in Sport presented by the Deputy Lord Mayor Paul Doherty. Sport is very important in the development of our pupils.  When they participate in Sport, pupils learn skills and important qualities such as team spirit and self-discipline.  It is also a great way to make friends.

The award for Maths. Presented by Mrs Devlin and Mr White.

Maths is an indispensable part of our daily lives. There isn't a day goes by when we don't use maths in one way or another. Consequently, our curriculum provides plentiful learning opportunities for our children to apply their knowledge to real-life situations. Our pupils are encouraged to think creatively, take risks for learning and develop the resilience required to consider alternative approaches as they develop their problem-solving abilities.

The award for Best at Mathematics in the school goes to Erin.

Mr Armstrong-

The Overall Literacy Award recognises a student who has demonstrated exceptional progress across all areas of literacy.

At Holy Trinity, we believe that literacy is the foundation of all learning.  Strong reading, writing, talking and listening skills empower our pupils to explore ideas, express themselves clearly and succeed across the curriculum.  Literacy opens doors to imagination, critical thinking and lifelong learning. This award celebrates not only a love of reading, but also the ability to think creatively and engage deeply with language.

This award was presented by our Chair of BOG Fr Brendan Mulhall.

The Overall Literacy Award in the school goes to  Finn.

We’re thrilled to introduce the Accelerated Reader Award to celebrate our most dedicated readers in the Accelerated Reading Programme. This special recognition is awarded to students who have read over 1,000,000 words during this academic year. We are incredibly proud to announce that 11 students have achieved this remarkable milestone and earned the title of AR Millionaire! They are:

The Clare Armstrong Success in Studies Award.  This award was presented to the student who has displayed the most positive attitude to, and engaged most fully in, all school activities, both in and out of the classroom.

The student who received this award today is confident, enthusiastic and highly driven and has worked consistently hard throughout their seven years here in Holy Trinity Primary School.  They have worked independently and collaboratively, proving themselves both as a leader and a strong team player.

The Clare Armstrong “Success in Studies” award goes to Broghan.

The Leon Carlisle Perpetual Trophy for the Overall Great Friend award. This award is in memory of a truly special pupil who was an extremely popular and who was kind, generous and hardworking and who was respected and adored by staff and pupils, a child who participated fully in the life of the school and who touched the hearts of all who met him. This award will go each year to the child whose personality best reflects Leon's. A child, who like Leon is kind, generous, good humoured and hard working.  A child who is gentle, considerate, compassionate and like Leon is a genuine and a true friend to all.

The Leon Carlisle Perpetual Trophy for Overall Great Friend award goes to Logan . 

The Rachel Molloy Resilience Award, is given in honour of the memory of a very special past pupil. Rachel was a compassionate, caring and thoughtful girl. Rachel really embodied the nurturing ethos of our school. She was passionate about helping others, always generous with her time and always doing so with a smile. Rachel also had a love for learning. Her ambition was to become a teacher, and she displayed all the attributes required to succeed. She would have made a wonderful teacher. Rachel was a treasured family member and friend and will always be remembered fondly here in Holy Trinity.

This year, the Rachel Molloy Resilience Award, is awarded to Ciar.

Thomas O’Hagan Superhero Award

This award is in memory of a very brave and courageous little boy. A true superhero Thomas O Hagan. Thomas was an amazing boy who worked hard and excelled in his studies. He was kind, caring, considerate, and a great friend to all. He never left anyone out. He could be quite serious but he also had a great sense of humour and a smile and infectious laugh that could light up a room.  He touched the hearts and was loved by everyone who met him. Thomas legacy and memory will live on in Holy Trinity through this perpetual trophy. He will always be part of our Holy Trinity family. The child who receives this special award will embody all of the qualities which Thomas had- integrity, kindness, bravery,  resilience , empathy,  a child who works hard and lives life to the full- a real superhero. It will be awarded to a P3 child every year in Thomas’ memory. 

Thomas O’Hagan Superhero Award -Anna

Rev. Matthew Wallace Perpetual Cup.  It is for someone who has shown leadership and it is named after the Rev. Father Wallace or Father Matt as he was known to one and all.  Father Wallace was inspirational and worked tirelessly for the Holy Trinity community.  Father Wallace was a decisive, inspiring, supportive, compassionate and above all, a friend to all.  The recipient of the award is indeed following in illustrious footsteps and hopefully will continue the empathetic traditions for which Father Wallace was known.  Father Wallace was proud of Holy Trinity Primary School and we are honoured to name this perpetual trophy in his memory.

Our Parish Priest and Chairman of the Board of Governors Fr Mulhall presented this award.

Rev. Matthew Wallace Perpetual Cup (Overall pastoral/leadership award) is awarded to Maisie.

The Marie Mc Auley Overall Student of the Year Award presented by Vice Principal Mr White .  This award is reserved for that pupil in Primary 7 who has proven academic distinction combined with personality and endeavour.  The award is a unique academic distinction known as the Student of the Year. The trophy is a memorial to the late Miss Marie McAuley who served in Holy Trinity Girls’ PS. for almost thirty years.  Marie was an outstanding teacher and vice-principal.  She was eminently talented, particularly in Art and English.

The Marie McAuley trophy for the Best Overall Student of the Year for 2024/2025 is awarded to Mia.
