P7 Shine in School Radio Project!
Our brilliant P7 children have successfully completed the CCEA School Radio task, and we couldn’t be prouder of their creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm!
As part of this exciting project, the children explored the world of digital audio, planning, creating, editing and publishing their very own radio shows. Each group carefully designed their programmes, thinking about their audience, writing scripts, selecting music and sound effects, and structuring their shows from beginning to end.
The children then brought their ideas to life by recording and editing their audio in Audacity, sequencing clips into a final production and refining their work.. It was wonderful to see them confidently discussing their choices, evaluating their work, and making improvements along the way — just like real radio producers!
A real highlight of the experience was receiving expert advice from DJ Declan Wilson from Cool FM. The children absolutely loved hearing his tips and insights into the world of broadcasting, which inspired them to deliver expressive, engaging and professional-sounding shows.
Throughout the project, our P7 pupils developed:
- Confidence in speaking and presenting
- Skills in recording and editing digital audio
- Creativity in script writing and programme design
- Teamwork and collaboration
- An awareness of audience and purpose
The energy, laughter and excitement throughout this project made it a truly memorable experience. Most importantly, the children had so much fun while developing valuable ICT and communication skills.
Well done P7 — you have been absolutely outstanding!
We think there may be some future radio stars among you!
