From Classroom to Community: P4CW’s Persuasive Pitch for a Healthier School
This term, P4CW dived headfirst into the world of persuasive writing, and the results were nothing short of inspiring. Taking their learning far beyond the classroom, the students collaborated on a compelling letter addressed to Mrs. Boyd, passionately demanding a healthier school environment with increased opportunities for daily exercise.
The project truly came to life when the class recorded a video performance of their letter and emailed it to both Mrs. Boyd and our local MLA, Paul Maskey. The excitement reached a fever pitch when Mr. Maskey actually replied, proving to the children that their voices really do matter!
While the class was firm in their "demands," we are very lucky Mrs. Boyd found the funny side of our letter and took our ambitious ideas in her stride!
This project was a brilliant showcase of how writing can bridge the gap between schoolwork and the community.
