Attendance Matters: Let’s Make Every Day Count

25th Feb 2026

We are excited to share that improving attendance is a key focus in our School Development Plan over the next three years, and our pupils are already embracing the challenge with great enthusiasm. Each week, they love celebrating the class with the highest attendance and proudly presenting the attendance trophy. To build on this momentum, we’ve introduced a vibrant new attendance display in the school hall to help track progress and keep motivation high.

From this week onwards, classes can earn points in three ways:
• Achieving 95% attendance or higher
• Improving their attendance from the previous week
• Securing the highest overall attendance for the week, along with taking home the attendance trophy

At Easter, the class with the most points will enjoy a special end of term treat.

Parents play a vital role in helping their child — and their child’s class — succeed. Strong attendance supports learning, builds confidence, and contributes to the whole class’s progress on the display. Every day in school truly counts, and even one or two absences can make a noticeable difference to weekly percentages. By ensuring your child attends regularly and arrives on time, you are helping their class move closer to the reward.

We hope this new system brings a fun, encouraging boost to attendance across the school.
