The half-time games at today’s Division 4 National League game between Antrim and Longford, in Portglenone, was brightened by a superb display of underage talent as Cumann na mBunscol players took to the field for a series of exhibition games.
In the ladies’ game Aoibhin, Cadhla, Cara and Saorlaith were all outstanding. Each showed confidence, skill and great determination, delivering performances that had the crowd cheering from the sideline. Their teamwork and composure on the ball were particularly impressive and marked them out as players with huge potential.
The boys’ game was equally entertaining, with Padraig and Shay both excelling in attack and defence. Their sharp movement, accurate passing and ability to break down play demonstrated maturity beyond their years and ensured the match was played at a fast exciting tempo.
With displays of talent like this on show the future is undeniably bright for the saffron of Antrim.
