Best Kept School Competition
Every year schools in Belfast are inspected as part of the Best Kept Schools Competition. We had a visit by the inspector in May and he was very positive about the absence of litter in the school and the well kept school grounds but most of all he was impressed by our Sensory Garden. This was designed by the pupils last year and was completed in Spring. All of the children have visited the garden and many of them have had the opportunity to plant their own herbs and vegetables. We were delighted when we heard that we had been awarded first prize in the “Best Kept Large School” competition. This is the first time a primary school has won this prestigious award since 1992. Mr DeOrnellas, Mrs Sloan, Aimee Connolly and Rachel Moore went to Lurgan where they received a beautiful crystal trophy, a wall plaque and cheque.
