Belfast Giants player teaches Healthy Eating.
Brett Hemingway of the Aer lingus Belfast Giants visited Holy Trinity last Tuesday as part of the Giants’ and Subway’s Healthy Lifestyle Programme. The ice hockey star spoke about the importance of eating healthily and getting enough exercise. They are hoping to visit over 100 schools this year.
Giants’ School Programme coordinator, Gordon Cameron said, “ This programme gives children an opportunity to meet and hear from a professional athlete whose influence over them can be substantial. The Giants’ and Subway are providing the children with a unique opportunity to follow a healthy lifestyle.”
Scot Heyes from Subway believes that this initiative is a great thing for kids and his company to be involved in. He stated, “ we are proud to sponsor such an initiative. From a parents standpoint, I think what we are doing is a GIANT step in the right direction.”
